Kurdish Wedding Traditions Culture

Kurdish Culture

Kurdish culture has distinctive traits that are very dissimilar to Toronto traits. Kurdish traditions are similar to those of the Iranians. Some of these similarities include the celebration of different occasions like weddings. Additionally, both cultures celebrate Nawroz, which is their New Year celebration. Nawroz is celebrated on twenty first of March. Kurds are considered as moderate Muslims thus the less observation of Islamic rules. For example, Kurdish culture allows women to work outside their homes. Unlike other Muslims, Kurdish cultures have less restriction about women wearing the hijab the Kurdish people also have unique wedding cultures admired by many people around the world.

Kurdish Marriage Procedure

Unlike Toronto weddings, three or four men and women with an advanced age visits the brides home before the ceremony as dictated by the Kurdish wedding traditional culture. In the first day of visit, the visitors tell the bride's parents the reasons for their visit. The purpose of this visit is to inform the girl's parents about their interest in her to get married to one of their own. After explaining their motive, the girl's parent may agree or refuse to hand their daughter for marriage.

When the girl's parents show some interest, the guests ask for some water. The girl's parents then ask her to serve the guests with water. The objective of this act is to give guests a chance to view the girl's stature, character as well as appearance. According to Kurdish wedding traditional culture, the girl is supposed to stand there until the guest finish drinking water. If the guests are impressed with the girl, they organize a second visit. In the second visit, the guest comes along with the man intending to marry the girl.

The elderly guests introduce the man to the girl and her parents. This gives the young girl and man a chance to interact and know each other. According to Kurdish wedding traditional culture, the ceremony kicks off only when the man is pleased with the girl and agrees to marry her. When this happens, the elderly guests request the girl's parents to hand their daughter for marriage. When both girl and young man are happy and satisfied, the wedding ceremony is prepared. Unlike Toronto weddings, this wedding is prepared within the same day.

Actual Wedding Ceremony

Just like Toronto weddings, Kurdish people celebrate during unification of a man and a woman. During this ceremony, there is performance of music performed by traditional musicians. According to Kurdish culture, there are three categories of music performance. This includes storytellers, minstrels as well as bards. Majority of songs performed are meant to cement love between the lovers. Some songs have an epic characteristic because they praise the wedding couples as heroes and winners. According to Kurdish culture, music performance stars one day prior to the wedding occasion.

On the actual day just like in Toronto, the groom puts a ring on the bride's finger while present audience celebrates the occasion in song and dance. …

Theories of Clothing

One of the earliest theories which formed the hypotheses of wearing clothes was the modesty / shame theory. This theory is also known as the fig leaf theory which is based on the story in the Bible. Genesis states that Adam and Eve realize that their state of being naked when they consume a fruit from the knowledge tree. And in shame they both stitched clothes out of fig leaves, hence the name fig leaf theory.

Many people started considering shame to be the only reason behind clothing, but as time flew by people read more and more hence offered a lot of other theories. Arguments said that clothing was merely because of protection of one's body from the threats in the environment. Other arguments stated that clothing was created to create sexual attraction or to display beauty of one's body.

Clothing was discovered eons ago. A discovery of a 500-year old male corpse on a glacier on the Austrian-Italian border revealed such. The body was clad in a fur cap, a leather cape, a loincloth, and leather shoes. These clothes were possibly there to provide protection against the harsh winds. Embellishing one's own body often provides satisfaction to humans. It is discovered that people began decorating themselves much before they started clothing. Early age signs of decoration included painting and tattoos and even jewelry. The articles other than clothing also had some significance in the society.

Recent scholars now state that clothing represents one's identity and communicates nonverbally. Clothing in some societies is as functional as language. It represents a person's age, gender, marital status, ethnicity, social status and occupation. Clothing reveals some information about an individual's personality, and economic standing. If a woman is dressed in blue jeans and is wearing a frilly flowered top, she is probably trying to state that she wants to look more traditional. On the other hand a person wearing a T-shirt which a rock band's name on the shirt, then its very probable that the person is a rock band fan.

The economy of one's society, the culture and traditions also inspire what one wears. According to many religions only the elite class can wear certain articles of clothing whereas the others cannot. Democracies today also reveal the same figures. People who are well-off are dressed in fine designer clothes, therefore representing a social status. Uniforms are another class of clothing which depicts one's occupation. They are most likely to be worn by police, students, army and so and so forth. Events also influence what one wears, for example in many societies special clothes are made just for weddings and its sequels. Sports wear is another clothing class which is made so as to provide easy movement and protection during games such as soccer, basketball, cricket and so on and so forth.

Clothing has now extended to a much diverse meaning. In high schools, the most desirable students wear something extraordinary which makes them stand out as opposed to the teens called …

How Women Should Protect Themselves Financially Regarding Divorce

Women who believe a divorce is a possibility or who think that their husband will be asking about getting a divorce at some point should put their emotions aside and plan "just in case" their intuition is correct that a divorce may be coming in the near future . If women who believe that the "divorce discussion" may be lurking, they should make it a point to look for solid signs that their husband will indeed ask for a divorce … then they should plan accordingly.

Women who think that they are signs that her husband may ask for a divorce but haven't thought about it deeply or who think that a divorce would better suit them rather than their husbands, should view the situation realistically and as stoically as possible. This will ensure that plan they take is calculated, logical and will benefit them based on what they want the end result to yield.

Often times women refuse to think that a divorce could happen to them and one day their husband comes home and says "There's something I have been meaning to talk to you about …" or "I think we should get a divorce." or something similar. If the situation has reached this point, its too late for women to start planning for their financial future after divorce.

So what do women who think a divorce is eminent or who want a divorce for themselves do in order to ensure they aren't left in financial ruin?

There's certainly a myriad of tactics that can be used and each woman's situation is different regarding divorce, but here's some tactics that will help:

Women and divorce tactic 1:

Once women validate their own reasons for divorce and are sure that divorce is the right path, they should make a plan and keep it to themselves. They shouldn't let anyone know what they've decided to do. They should not tell their friends, co-workers, or family … no one. And they certainly shouldn't lead on to their husband that they want a divorce if they are the ones who will be making the first move to end the marriage.

Women and divorce tactic 2:

Women in divorce should realize that the plan they take may require several months to implement and they should be patient and plan logically. Women should learn how much money it would take to support themselves (and children if the situation warrants it), how much money is actually available to them now, and how they can adjust their lifestyle to make sure they can financially survive.

Women and divorce tactic 3:

Women who may be facing divorce should look at the household wills. In some cases, it may be legal to take someone out of a will or put someone into a will without that person knowing.

Women and divorce tactic 4:

Women who want to plan for divorce should try to put away cash in the event something dramatic happens unexpectedly. Bit by bit, putting cash …

Evolving Fashion Trends – Then and Now

Well Isn't it quite an understatement if one thinks that fashion in India has come of age and in the last few decades, there has been a complete shift of thought as to how fashion was perceived to be and how the recent trends has transformed Indian Fashion into a global brand.

India being a country with an age old legacy of clothing & known for producing some of the best intricate creations in the world, yet seems to have a long way to go

How it All Began-

Over the years, popular Bollywood trends have been dominating the fashion scene from Madhubala's Anarkali-look with kurtas and churidars in Mughal-e-Azam (1960), to the purple embroidered sari worn by Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Thus, by taking a cue form history and passing on the rich & royal flavor onto the costumes designed for movies or social events has facilitated Indian designers and Indian clothes to make its mark all over the world.

The Birth of Changing Fashion-

Moreover, it was not until the birth of the 80s which was the period when the first generation of Indian fashion designers started to emerge including Satya Paul. Research shows that the designs and ensembles from some of the world's most talented designers, proves that-some of these "new" trends are simply a part of the Retro-culture which brings back yesteryears fashion into the present times.

The "Feminine Factor" – Biggest influence on evolving Fashion-

Fashion is & always been women centric, no doubt whenever a woman is dressed in a traditional "Saree" it makes her look sensuous and beautiful. Naturally this explains the great extent to which Indian woman have been the center of attraction to all things that is about fashion & social change.Today the 'Saree' is no more the staple dress for women that it was once upon a time and even women in their 30s today find it not so practical in wearing the Saree as they are not used to it. No wonder in offices of an emerging India "saree day" is celebrated as a special day. Thus, some of these "new" trends as regards saree aka modern day "Lehenga" apt for a Cosmo culture simply reminds one of a by gone era.

Fashion! Now & Then-

Thus, from the above, it is evident that the influence of western culture on fashion specially concerning the youth, can be seen in today's outfits which is trying to find a balance between the original & traditional types, which again proves the mixing of the old & the new. So, what was once worn as part of daily life and was common clothing seems to have now become somewhat of a social get together clothing. Moreover, the earliest signs of the coming together of western fashion & Indian dressing was witnessed when Government of India opened the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi with the help of the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York

This was a paradigm …

Smart E-Commerce: Learn How to Protect Your Company Against Coupon Abuse

Of course, an effective and easy way to attract new customers for a young venture or product is to offer special deals in the form of coupon codes. With the help of promoters and referrers, success can be guaranteed. But giving away promo codes has its own downside: when uncontrolled, chances are, someone will certainly find a loophole to abuse the promotion.

Promo abuse occurs when an individual – customer, vendor or a partner agency takes advantage of a promotion, unduly benefiting from a coupon multiple times, or perhaps, using them to earn money and other items or valuable services. Though quick boost in sales transaction is a good thing (especially if you're running short of matching a monthly target), the coupled abuse of promotion might eventually take its toll on your profit margin and decrease the trust of investors.

Forms of coupon fraud.

Based on actual business experiences, "creative" individuals have devised several ways to misuse and abuse promo coupons. For voucher codes distributed online with the intent of attracting new customers only, abusers have learned several workarounds. There are even numerous websites, blogs, and videos dedicated to teaching users how to work the system. Naturally, it's not a big deal if one of your users will take advantage of the code several times by creating 2 or 3 accounts with different email addresses. The real problem starts when company employees, affiliates or partners are the ones involved in the coupon profiteering. I will cover more fraudsters tactics in future articles, but here are a few examples of the most common types of coupon abuse:

– Referral payouts: refer-a-friend program is a great incentive to create fake accounts or post the referral code on social media. In the second case you at least increase your database, however, such practice increases your Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC); those users could sign up directly on your site.

– Cart abandonment voucher: customers already noticed, that each time they abandon the basket before finalizing the purchase, you send a retargeting campaign with a discount. Such a coupon incentivise to finish the purchase, but also to do it again when buying next time.

– Affiliate frauds: to increase their margin, affiliate networks, and agencies register each order as a new customer, using the voucher. Customer pays a full price, agency get's the discount value.

– Reselling own inventory: it's common in various marketplaces that sellers buy their own inventory using discounts, and .. put it back on sale. They earn a discount value, decreased by your margin. You earn, hmm, a fake KPIs.

– Generating fake orders: some vendors go even further, especially when they are the ones responsible for the logistics; They simply generate a fake order. Common in food delivery and car sharing services, a service provider – restaurant or the driver creates a discounted order, which in fact does not have to be delivered. Again, they earn a discount value decreased by your margin.

What can you do to prevent it? …

Collecting Die Cast Model Tanks

For those who are considering investing in collecting die cast military vehicles then model tanks may be just what they are looking for. Die cast model tanks can look great no matter how you choose to display them and represent a large portion of the history of military vehicles. In the United States for example no new tanks are being produced. The older ones are sent in for disassembly and then reassembled using the newest technology. By collecting the models of all the older tanks you are keeping the history of the tank alive.

Die cast models are very easy to care for. A lightly dampened cloth will easily clean any surface dust and will not chance damaging the paint job. For models that have a good deal of decals on them it is better to just wipe them with a lint free cloth. Water may loosen the decals which can then be difficult to properly reattach.

If there are openings in the model itself then you can use canned air. Use short bursts while making sure to hold the can about six inches from the model. If you hold it too close you can damage the model. Sometimes the propellant can be shot from the cans and can cause frost damage to the decals or paint if you happen to turn the can upside down.

Always make sure to hold the can upright. If you are looking for a great way to display your die cast models then an oak or cherry bookcase can make a great display case. It is rather easy to add lights to the cases by drilling holes for the bulbs and using the small decorative bulbs that are typically used for Christmas trees. As long as these are placed in the holes using an adapter that can easily be found at a lighting store you will not run the risk of starting a fire.

You can also add glass to the front of the book case to keep wandering hands from handling your models and damaging them with the oils from their hands. Your hands contain a good deal of natural oils and it is very easy for these oils to be left behind on any surface that you touch. Die cast models are no exception.

Unpainted, these models can tarnish from the oils. Painted models can experience damage to the paint job from the oils over time. The oils can even damage the decals that may be present. By properly taking care of your die cast model tanks you can have a great looking collection that will last a very long time.

Shopping Addiction – How to Stop Compulsive Shopping

My Shopping Addiction Almost Cost Me More Then Money

"How did this happen again?" I whispered. There I stood with unopened credit card bills that had been hidden under my bed so my husband, wouldn't find them. I felt like I was going to throw up just standing there with the bills laid out in front of me. As I opened them I was speechless. How had I spent another $ 2000 this month? Sure, I love to shop, but only once or twice a week, my husband knew it. What could I have spent that kind of money on? My husband would flip if he ever knew how out of control my spending was. He thought the only money I was spending was written in the checkbook but the reality of it all was that I only used the checkbook for what I "thought" he wouldn't rant and rave about. I felt I had no choice, I couldn't tell him because when he got upset ranting and raving could go on for hours or even days and he could spend days without even speaking to me. I have no idea what I am going to do. I'm drowning and I see no way out.

Owing $ 28,000 on credit cards is never they way to get out of debt.

As I looked at the balances of the 4 credit cards in front of me I was astonished to see that I actually owed $ 28,000. I had the bills coming to my office address so he wouldn't know the truth. This was the fourth time I had gotten into situations like this, he said if I ever did anything like this again he would leave me. What he did know was last time I did not tell him about the other two cards I still had. I just couldn't, he would have gotten even angrier and I was afraid that would be the last straw so I repeatedly assured him there were no other cards. I knew lying to him was wrong but I was so scared of what he might do. Looking back now, I see how screwed up my life was then and I think the purpose of these shopping binges was because I had no control over my life or anything else. To say I was afraid of him physically hurting me would be an overstatement but at this time he had so much control over me with verbal abuse he did have to be physical.

I was at the point that I had convinced myself that it did not make a difference because I was making a payment every month, I had convinced myself I would be able to get out of the hole I had dug for myself. My thought was that as soon as I got more money I would pay them off.

Swapping money around

I was a little concerned each time I had to get a cash advance however, each time …

The Nitty-Gritty's of a Shia Muslim Wedding Ceremony

It is a great experience to be a part of the Shia wedding. Every ritual is self contained with cultural affluence and uniqueness. Laughter, joy and fun are the essentials of a Muslim matrimonial event. Unlike Sunni weddings, Shia ceremonies are carried out on a relatively magnificent scale. Every ceremony is made grand through lavish feasts and celebrations.

Shia Muslim Wedding – The Ceremonies
The bride's special day begins with the rasam of Mangni. This is the official engagement. The official wedding date is decided and announced at this event.
As the D-Day approaches, the celebrations begin, with Mayun being the first wedding ritual. According to this, the groom and the bride are not allowed to meet from Mayun till wedding day. The bride is secluded 7-15 days prior to wedding. She is not allowed to do any household chores.

The next interesting ceremony in a quintessential Muslim wedding is Uptan. The groom's mother and sister prepare a paste with haldi, sandalwood powder (Chandan), aromatic oils and herbs. They bring this paste for the bride and apply it onto her face, neck and arms. A similar paste is prepared and sent for the groom by bride's mother. This ceremony is followed by dholki, Mehndi, and Baraat. The Baraat is received at the bride's house by her sisters and friends. This is a fun ceremony that involves gently hitting the guests playfully with a stick adorned with flowers.

Then, proceedings are made to perform the Nikah (the wedding ceremony). This ritual is conducted by the official priest (Qazi). The Nikah is attended only by family members and close relatives. After the Qazi declares the accomplishment of Nikah, the bride and the groom's parents congratulate each other and bless the couple. Nikah is followed by the Muh Dikhai rasam

This event is connected with ruksati. This is the farewell ritual for the bride before she moves to her husband's house. The bride is welcomed at the groom's house and traditional games, like gana, are played by the couple. The basic notion behind these games is to make the bride comfortable in her new house. The groom's family arranges a feast for relatives, friends, and the community. This feast is known as Walima and is celebrated on a grand scale.

The Shia Muslim Wedding Traditions

Some of the nitty-gritty's of the wedding include:

• A Shia Muslim wedding event does not necessitate the presence of witnesses during the wedding ceremony.

• It is obligatory that the Nikah is delivered publicly through six verses.

• The ceremonial bath is an essential part of the wedding. This ceremonial bath is performed a day before wedding.

• Another unique custom is the arrangement for temporary marriage alliance. As per this custom, divorce is not necessary for separation if the bride and the groom don't get along well. They can give their relation a try for the period agreed upon at the time of Nikah. If the marriage works out well, they can continue, else get separated …
