The Advantages and Disadvantages of Beauty in Love Relationships, Marriage, and Dating

Who wouldn't want to be beautiful? What is beauty? Perhaps, we have all given these questions consideration at one time or another. I would opt to be beautiful if given the choice. Based upon some of my observations of standard beauty, I know it would give me a competitive edge as would youth. I have followed a beautiful woman around all day, many days, to see what it is like to be praised and admired by those people a beautiful woman meets. I have observed others in order to learn about the pros and cons of having an attractive appearance.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Anyone could potentially be beautiful according to another person. Some people prefer blondes. Others prefer tanned skin. Even others prefer tall people. Everyone has his own preferences; yet, there are some people who have facial and body proportions that are considered beautiful by the majority. Those people who tend to fall into the category of standard beauty tend to get a lot of extra attention throughout the day.

The attention given to a beautiful woman is that of having all eyes on her and that of receiving many compliments. People will talk to her a lot, offer her free drinks, offer gifts, ask for her address, invite her out, and more. At least this is what I observed while following a beautiful woman around all day for many days. She received so many compliments that it became somewhat annoying even to her. People lavished her with much praise for about everything she did. As she conducted her job search, potential employers told her they were looking for someone who was beautiful. One employer said she wanted to hire someone with a "beautiful presence." Naturally, the beautiful woman found a job with no difficulty.

If being beautiful means a person can have more friends, find more jobs, and influence others, then it is clearlyly convenient to be beautiful. To be unattractive means that an individual has some proportions that are less standardized and more unusual. There are some obvious reasons why a person considered less attractive by the majority might benefit from the struggle to attract others. She will benefit by having to do her job better or by having to study diligently.

A person who is less attractive will be attractive to someone somewhere. He or she will have to work harder to prove himself in some areas or studies. In order to compete with the so-called "beautiful" person, the "average" person will have to go the extra mile. He or she might seek to be more courteous or creative. She might develop a special talent like art, singing, or a sport. Perhaps the less attractive individual will decide to read more books in order to be appreciated for her knowledge. She might become a learned person to prove herself. Those people who are not considered extremely beautiful will know what it feels to work hard to achieve something without relying upon …

Are Single Black Women Too Independent?

Too sure of themselves, too eager to express their opinion (and dis yours), too unwilling to listen and be submissive? Are today's black women even capable of 'following' a strong black man? For all my single brothers out there who have asked me these questions many times – this article is for you.

First, let's deal with the first question – Are single black women too independent? My answer to this might surprise you – I think, in many ways, black women are too independent, but with good reason. To understand this dichotomy, you have to understand something about most single black women. Most single black women have a history of supporting themselves, holding down a job (or two), possibly raising children, attending school, taking care of household bills (probably with a house of their own) and helping out with other family responsibilities involving parents , grandparents and siblings.

In many cases they have handled these responsibilities without a strong or consistent male influence in their lives. Through miscommunication, death, neglect or abuse, many father-daughter, sister-brother, boyfriend-girlfriend relationships have gone astray, oftentimes leaving women to form a support network among themselves in order to get things done, bring order to their lives and accomplish those tasks that were once upon a time more evenly split between the two genders.

This has caused an epidemic of sorts in the single black community. Black women learned that in order to get things done, they had to rely upon themselves and began to do so with increasing success. As a result of this, black women learned that they didn't really 'need' black men the way they thought they did – for companionship, for leadership or for money and support. They learned to work and earn money for themselves, raise their children single-handedly, pay their bills, and get their own education, but these lessons came at a cost. And that cost was the sacrifice of a healthy relationship with their future spouses, boyfriends or lovers. So, yes, black women are sometimes too independent, but only because they had to be. In order to survive, in order for their children to survive and in order to make their lives work.

Are single black women then too sure of themselves, too eager to express their opinions, unwilling to listen or be submissive? Again the answer is – sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes yes because single black women are usually pretty confident, pretty self-assured and pretty sure of who they are – especially once they've reached a certain age. And sometimes yes because I have seen a sister 'go off' on a brother for pretty much no reason at all, just to establish her dominance or control. And I have known many a good man who was being 'dogged' by his woman because he wouldn't stand up to her. But, sometimes no because most single black women are just waiting to meet a man strong enough to deal with them in the wholeety of their character. A …

Printable Coupons and Your Time

The old saying tells us time is money. Couponing is a perfect example. Before you can redeem your coupons you have to spend time cutting, clipping, accumulating, sorting and filing them.

Someone estimated people who are hard core couponers spend upwards to 14 to 16 hours a week couponing. It becomes akin to a part time job. Of course there are people who spend less time just as there are people who spend more time. However 14 to 16 hours seems to be the standard.

On top of the above associated activities, coupon users are still required to plan their shopping trip. All the coupons in the world are worthless if a person hasn't planned on when and where they will use them.

Beginners who have yet to set up a personalized system probably are the ones who will initially spend more time. Even couponing requires a learning curve and a workable, easy to follow system. Honing those couponing skills requires time and effort just the same as any other field.

Couponing can be a fun and money saving hobby. However, some people have taken it to extreme and earned the label extreme couponers. These are the folks who spend what seems like every waking moment immersed in couponing.

Most of us would agree that a degree of balance is important. Devoting all or a majority of your time to couponing seems out of whack with the norm. Most of us have spouses, children, friends, neighbors, hobbies and other activities that occupy a spot on our life's menu.

Mistreating these relationships and letting them fall out of our specifically can impair even the heartiest of relationship. After all, life isn't only coupons. Just ask your children.

The person who manages to keep a balance and perspective on couponing and their other life activities knows there are helping hands in couponing. One of them is free printable coupons found on Internet websites.

These coupons provide a person with the opportunity to spend less time cutting and clipping and planning. All you do is print the coupons and go to the store. It can be more complicated but generally speaking it isn't.

Like all coupons, printable coupons are free and readily available. A short web surfing adventure will take you to a number of websites with printable coupons. After you have visited a few, you will probably settle on between three and five sites for your coupons.

This adds to the time saved. You know right where to go and what you want to print. Printable coupons may not be the answer for everyone but they fill the bill for a good number of people.

Golden Tips for Wearing Plus-Size Fashion in Style

Gone are times when the fashion industry was inclined towards petite women. Today, plus size women have enough choices in terms of brands and labels, if not more. However, before you shop for plus-size clothing, we have a few tips right below for your help.

Dress Your Size!

That's the most important rule for any woman, regardless of her shape and current weight. You have to wear something that fits you perfectly. Keep in mind that you cannot hide your body forever, but yes, it is possible to mask the extra pounds. Nevertheless, make sure that you choose a size that fits you. The best idea is to buy two sizes at the same time. You can keep the one that fits you for your current closet, and the other one can inspire you to get leaner.

Wear Your Age!

Yes, that's right! If you are just 29, you don't need to dress like 35, just because of your weight. Fashion is all about balancing comfort and style, and it is important to experiment. Try to wear clothes that flatter your body, irrespective of your age. Nothing is off-limits for any lady out there. The only thing you need is confidence in your own style, and if you have that, everything will look as good as expected.

Buy Online!

If you are looking for more choices in plus size dresses for women , it's best to check online. There are some amazing brands on the web, and some of them ship in all parts of the globe. Instead of choosing a name that makes regular clothes, it is wise to choose a brand that understands and contrast the needs of plus-sized women. You will find more options in prints, sizes, and styles, depending on your requirements.

Follow the Rules!

Some fashion rules are forever. If you love wearing stripes, vertical stripes will look better than horizontal ones. Also, thinner stripes will make you look leaner than big and broad lines. You also need to try darker colors, especially for the evenings. For those who are not fond of black for that leaning effect, navy blue and shades of dark green are the next best options. You also need to try new prints. Smaller prints will surely look better, but again, there are no hard norms to follow in this regard.

Be Open to Ideas!

Follow the leading fashion blogs and websites to find new ideas on plus-size fashion. The trends change every season, so you will find something new to suit your personal style. Experts and fashion gurus advise on trying seasonal ideas because you will find more options. It is also a nice thought to think of classics. Basically, you need to have the right essentials for work and casual days, and once you have the basics, you can keep buying new stuff that meets your fashion demands.

Some women just don't have petite frames, but that should never really hamper fashion choices. Take a check online and we …

Corsica A Stunning Beauty

Years ago, my boss suggested that it could be a career limiting move, to stay in Paris longer than the assignment required. Of course, I found this rather disappointing as I had a strong desire to explore Corsica, and felt that a holiday was well deserved. The French, for good reason, call Corsica " l'Ile de Beaut e" or Island of Beauty. The island is stunning at every turn with sandy beaches, limestone cliffs, granite mountain peaks and lush agricultural areas. Corsica offers something for every taste, from the "beach lizard" to the "adventure racer" and all the folks in between.

There are two ferry companies offering crossings to the island, SNCM and Corsica Ferries. We booked on Corsica Ferries from Nice to Bastia. Our trip fell between two religious holidays, L'Assomption de Marie and Pentecte , which necessitated booking accommodation in advance, and in our case dictated a clockwise circuit of the island. Bastia is a port city, located at the northern end of the island. The historic old port, citadel and the current Place Saint Nicholas are all worth visiting. Bastia is a working town, which does not radiate natural or architectural beauty.

However, Bastia is the "gateway" city to Cap Corse, the wild and still relatively underpopulated area at the very tip of the island. There is one coastal road on Cap Corse, allowing the traveler to view most of the rugged coastline. There are villages perched in the hills above the coastline; It is worth the drive to a few of these hamlets for some splendid views. In our case, it took all day to drive 100km, in a place that combines the beauty of both Cape Breton (Nova Scotia) and Big Sur (California) on tiny roads with no shoulders and crazy drivers. The tourist office in Bastia is located on Place Saint Nicholas, they are friendly and have some colorful brochures available for visitors. However, they offer limited information on Cap Corse. The Cap Corse information office is located just on the edge of Bastia at Port de Toga. This tiny badly signed office is part of La Communaut de Communes du Cap Corse. They were helpful despite the seemingly inefficient system.

After two nights in Bastia, the next overnight stop was Corte, located in the mountains. Corte's permanent population is barely 7000, the numbers swell during tourist season, from April to November. Corte was once the island capital for a short period from 1755-69. Unfortunately, it is not a remarkable beauty either, although it is worth walking up to the citadel and taking some photos from the viewing platform. The allure is found outside Corte, in the hills and gorges surrounding the town that form the Corsica Natural Parc . There are numerous hiking options from this point of departure. We were not fortunate to land on favorable hiking weather, however, understand that there is something available for all levels from the G20 for the hearty and fit, to shorter hikes such as the …

Women Do Not Need to Be Like Men to Be Valid

Only female sexuality is political. No one tries to exaggerate male arousal. Few people want to discuss male sexuality. Women are certainly not aroused by or even interested in discussing sexual topics. Feminist educators tell young women that they should be less intent on pleasing men. Just exactly what does everyone think women have been doing since the dawn of time? By siding with the male view, these educators are conforming to the male view of female sexuality just as much as any other woman.

Sex experts advise young women to masturbate, so they know that female masturbation is not a natural phenomenon (like male masturbation). But no one ever considers that perhaps this behavior (of not masturbating) is normal for women. Noticeably, advice is always given on the basis of theory rather than personal experience. They know that sexual pleasure is more obscure for women otherwise they would not need to give the advice. No one tells boys to enjoy sex. There is no 'should' about sexual pleasure.

Some women eulogise about the clitoris but if girls were aroused, as easily as boys are, they would know that they need to stimulate their sex organ to achieve orgasm. Given orgasm obviously does not occur naturally, experts are not forthcoming with explicit details. It's just another form of bravado.

Other women assume that the sensations they feel from intercourse must equate to orgasm. They feel justified in lecturing other women on how easy orgasm is for them. But they have no idea about arousal or eroticism. In general women of all ages have very low expectations for sexual pleasure.

It is a form of bullying to tell women that they should experience something that they are very obviously incapable of. Men put pressure on women as a means of maximising their sexual opportunities, which is understandable given men's sex drive. Women bully other women purely out of selfish ego, ignorance and the desire to make money, which is much less forgivable.

Today girls are advised to be sexually daring and self-confident. This sends contradictory messages to girls. Are they supposed to be sexually willing or should they aspire to a loving relationship? Some girls feel pressured by the implication that they are supposed to enjoy sexual activity with a lover. They are bullied into offering fellatio and accepting anal sex, for example.

Sex educators are often intent on telling girls that they can hope to enjoy erotic pleasure from sex. When it is suggested that young women should be encouraged to enjoy sexual pleasure, the idea is strongly opposed by many mothers. Mothers know from experience that women do not obtain the same pleasure from sex that men do. Even with reliable contraception, there are many occasions when a couple is caught unprepared. Men are often unwilling to use a condom because it reduces their pleasure. Mothers don't want their daughters getting pregnant while providing male pleasure.

We will never be able to protect girls, if we are not honest …

Chinese Food, American Style

It is often a standing joke that what Americans consider to be Chinese food is totally of our own making, and cooks and diners in China would find them completely foreign (like chop suey – what on earth is that?). But somewhere along the line, Chinese food was adapted from our Asian immigrants, Americanized and became wildly popular, not only as a take-out but served buffet-style and sit-down as well. Many dishes are accompanied by plain white, brown or fried rice. Let's review our most popular:

Dim Sum: bite-sized dumplings stuffed with veggies or meat, essentially a Cantonese preparation not always offered at many restaurants; can be also presented as small sampling dishes, depending on the menu and the cook's whim;

Hot and Sour Soup: a delightfully "sour" soup with a spicy broth, it contains red peppers or white pepper and vinegar; another favorite soup is a light broth with won ton (meat-filled dumplings);

Quick Noodles : a staple in every Chinese home and found on most Chinese restaurant menus, it comes in several versions, often called lo mein and may be plain or have veggies;

Szechwan Chilli Chicken: a fiery Sichuan delight loaded with pungent spices like ginger, green and red chillies and brown pepper; be careful if you are not a fan of hot chilli peppers;

Spring Rolls: Frequently a lighter version of traditional egg rolls, which are shredded meat and veggies encased in a papery thin dough, rolled and deep fried; a favorite to be sure;

Egg Foo Young : an egg pancake with veggies, often too bland for Chinese foodies, served with a brown sauce;

Shitake Fried Rice with water Chestnuts: mushrooms and water chestnuts are used frequently in Chinese cooking, and this is just another version of traditional fried rice; some things never go out of style;

Moo Shu: stir-fried veggies and meat, chicken, shrimp or tofu, rolled up in thin pancakes spread with plum sauce (this author's favorite dish);

Kung Pao Chicken: savory pieces of chicken cooked in a wok with veggies and flavored with peanuts and spices; from the time of the Qing Dynasty (circa 1876);

General Tso Chicken : deep-fried chicken dish in a tangy sauce, an all-time favorite; it may have been named in honor of a Qing dynasty military leader, but it's really anyone's guess;

Orange Chicken: another popular deep-fried chicken dish, coated with an orange sauce after cooking (not for a low-fat diet, to be sure);

Peking Duck: don't expect this specialty to be readily available at many Chinese restaurants, Peking duck harkens back to the Imperial Era (221 BC) and characterized by its thin, crisp skin; often must be ordered ahead of time but fit for an emperor;

Like many other cuisines, Chinese cooking uses sauces and seasonings native to their regions, which might include:

soy sauce
oyster sauce
sesame oil
rice vinegar
rice wine
soybean paste
star anise
five spice powder
chili sauce (or paste)
chili powder
sichuan peppercorns
black bean sauce

Many of these are available …

Ancient Beauty Secrets: The Beauty Staple of Cleopatra and Helen of Troy You Can Start Using Now

Apple cider vinegar was used by both Cleopatra and Helen of Troy as a facial toner. It is a skin renewal, acting as a natural exfoliate. It balances and restores the skins PH and is an antibacterial-which makes it a great acne inhibitor.

PH balanced skin makes a huge difference in the health of your skin. When your skin is PH balanced, bacteria, acne and clogged pores simply cannot occur. The malic acid in Apple cider vinegar smooths out the skin and also helps to reduce wrinkles.

HOW: To get the benefits of this ancient beauty regimen try your hand at an apple cider vinegar based facial toner. If you don't want to purchase a beauty enhanced facial toner you can simply make your own basic toner by diluting quality apple cider vinegar with water.

To make a basic apple cider based facial toner take: 1 part raw organic apple cider vinegar to 2.5-3 parts distilled water (not spring), depending on your preference and simply dab or spay on your face after washing daily. Let it dry and then apply your moisturizer as usual. Shake well before each use and store in a dark cool place. This should last up to one month.

TIP: Apple cider vinegar has been toted as an effective acne treatment for some time. It is even known to reduce or even eliminate the exasperation and formation of acne within a few days.

Natural plant-based body care vs. traditional chemical-laden products:

Natural body care is a powerful tool if you choose to use it. Sometimes, the most simple plant-based ingredients are all we need to resolve many of the skin issues we incur.

Plant-based ingredients contain antioxidants, vitamins and other nutrients that make them a powerful non-toxic way to obtain and maintain healthy, beautiful skin and have been used by ancient cultures for thousands of years-because they work.

Why are so many body care products plagued by un-natural chemicals?

The cosmetics industry as a whole has very little regulation. This means, they can use almost any chemical, toxic or not, just as long as they are not in large amounts and will purposely harm consumers after a few uses-this is why the long-term use of these products is a concern for many people. These chemicals-such as sulfates and parabens-preserve the product and create the lather, consistency, coloring and fragrance that consumers have come to expect-they're also cheaper than plant-based alternatives.

Trademark International Class – Class 25 (Clothing)

All goods or services are categorized within International Classes (IC hereafter). Goods run from classes IC 1-34, while Services are in IC 35-45. Let's take a closer look at one of these trademark classes – class 25.

What is International Class 25 All About?

Each class has a short title heading that gives a snapshot of what that class is all about – IC 25's short title is clothing. But, as with anything trademark, there's more to it than that. The USPTO has 887 accepted descriptions that fit into IC 25.

IC 25 is pretty straightforward in that clothing of virtually any type you can think of is going to be here. The exceptions are clothing that's of a protective nature (eg bulletproof vests, clothing worn by motorcyclists for protection against injury), which, oddly enough, is in IC 9.

How do I File in IC 25?

Filing in IC 25 is a bit different from other goods classes in terms of the required specimen . When it comes to clothing, the best thing to send to the USPTO is either a tag or a label. This makes it clear that the name and / or logo is being used for a clothing line. Your specimen can be a tag that's attached to the garment, such as a hang tag, or it can be a tag that's sewn into the garment.

The USPTO will no longer accept a picture of, for instance, a t-shirt with the name appearing only on the front. Those days are over. The USPTO considers this ornamental as it's "conveying a message rather than indicating the source of the goods."

What Else is in International Class 25?

Seems like with any of these trademark classes, there always seems to be the oddball item or two and IC 25 is no exception. Here are a few items living in IC 25 that seem a bit off:

o gift packages sold as a unit consisting of a sweatshirt and also including a photo frame, a coffee mug, and a tote bag
o race number belts that hold a paper number on the race participant's front or back during competition
o undergarment accessories, namely, removable silicone buttock enhancer pads

Where Are the Women in Tech?

According to the National Center for Women Information Technology (NCWIT), the US Department of Labor estimated that 1.4 million computer related jobs would be available in the US between 2010-2020. At current graduation rates for Information Technology, we can expect to fill only 32% of those jobs with US Information Technology graduates. The NCWIT further states that although women hold about 57% of professional occupations in the US, only 26% of computing occupations are held by women. Even worse, only 3% of those jobs are held by African-American women, 5% by Asian women, and only 2% by Hispanic / Latino women.

The computing industry is failing to attract women to the field and sadly retention is poor. Women are leaving the industry at staggering rates, according to the NCWIT. Overall, the number of people graduating with computer or information science degrees has been steadily decreasing since 2004. There is a severe shortage of talent in IT. Salaries for.net programming and other popular technologies are the highest ever and the need for developers is rising. Companies are in near crisis mode as they fight to retain and attract IT talent. American women with computer science degrees can help fill some of these gaps.

Personally, I have been a woman in IT since the late 70's when I graduated with a business degree and the MIS Manager at the company I worked for noticed I had programming on my resume. At the time, I was only making a summer pit-stop before pursuing further education in interior design. Struggling with a shortage of programmers even at that time, I was made a very lucrative offer as a full-time programmer, which I accepted. I never thought I would stay in the field, but as the years wore on I realized I was destined for a career in IT. Oddly, it wasn't my passion but the money was good and the opportunities were like none other for a woman in the 80's.

The software development career path led me to work with managers and co-workers in a highly male dominated field. Even from a client perspective, all upper management and power lunches that I was included in featured a roundtable of suited men with one petite suited woman – me. I never actually thought much about it. My opinions and work were always highly respected. The knowledge of software and the creation of highly necessary business programming provided a "20 something" woman with opportunities that I could have never had in most other fields. Besides being highly compensated, the work was challenging and I worked with business executives at the highest level.

One of the best things about software development is that you are filling a business need. To sit across major players at top companies and work with them to develop software that will make their business better is an amazing experience. Further, technology is exciting to work in because there is always something new to learn and some new development perspective to take. …
